Privacy Policy
1. Architectural Overview & Commitment to Privacy
The NEAT Interactive Topology Visualizer & Lunar Lander Playground is built with a strict privacy-by-design, zero-collection architecture. The entire application—including physics simulation, neural network evaluation, evolutionary algorithms (crossover, mutation, speciation), and SVG graph visualization—executes 100% locally within your web browser's client-side runtime.
We do not operate backend application servers, databases, or user telemetry pipelines. We do not track, collect, store, or monetize any personal data.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
In accordance with data minimization principles, we do NOT collect or process any of the following:
- Personal identifying information (names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses).
- Account credentials or authentication identifiers.
- User behavior analytics, session heatmaps, keystrokes, or mouse trajectory telemetry.
- Device fingerprints, advertising IDs, or cross-site tracking profiles.
- IP addresses stored in application-level logs.
3. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Compliance (EU Regulation 2016/679)
For visitors residing in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA), we adhere to the core principles outlined in Article 5 of the GDPR:
- Lawfulness, fairness, and transparency: We process zero personal data. Any ephemeral simulation state exists solely in volatile device memory to fulfill the explicit interactive experience requested by the user.
- Purpose limitation: No secondary processing, data mining, or commercial profiling is performed.
- Data minimization: No personal attributes are gathered or retained.
- Storage limitation: Simulation runs, genome mutations, and physics states are erased when the browser session or tab is closed.
- Data Subject Rights (Articles 15–22): Because we store no personal data, identifiers, or logs connecting you to any record, requests for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection are inherently fulfilled by the absence of data storage.
4. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) Compliance
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA):
- Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: We do not sell, rent, release, disclose, disseminate, make available, transfer, or otherwise communicate personal information to third parties for monetary or valuable consideration.
- No Profiling or Targeted Advertising: We do not track consumers over time or across third-party websites to serve targeted advertisements.
- Non-Discrimination: All features, simulations, and genetic operations are provided equally to all users without discrimination.
5. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
This playground is an educational computer science demonstration intended for students, researchers, and developers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in applicable jurisdictions). If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please notify us; however, because the application operates without backend databases or transmission endpoints, no collected personal data exists.
6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies (ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC)
This website does not use cookies. Specifically:
- No tracking cookies, marketing cookies, or third-party advertising cookies are stored.
- No analytics or session-tracking cookies (such as Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel) are included.
- No fingerprinting scripts or local storage tracking beacons are deployed.
Because no non-essential cookies or tracking technologies are set, a disruptive cookie consent banner is not required under the ePrivacy Directive and applicable European data protection guidelines.
7. Third-Party Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)
To deliver performant, standardized web typography and visualization libraries, this static application references two well-established external Content Delivery Networks (CDNs):
- Google Fonts: Supplies the
InterandJetBrains Monotypefaces. When your browser requests style sheets and font binaries, your IP address is sent to Google servers in accordance with Google's public Privacy Policy. - jsDelivr CDN: Supplies the open-source
D3.jslibrary script. Technical transmission logs (including IP addresses) are processed by jsDelivr per their public Privacy Policy strictly for traffic routing and DDoS prevention.
No application state, simulation inputs, or neural network genomes are ever sent to these providers.
8. Policy Revisions & Inquiries
We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. For questions regarding this privacy policy or our open-source implementation, please submit an issue on our public repository.
